Joe Mantegna Football

Dear SEGA,

I don't play them, but
if you made sports games again,
you'd make some money.

Sincerely Yours,
Shenmue Fan.

  2. Wish they could still make football games. NFL 2K5 was the best.

  3. We have Madden to thank for putting the kabosh on SEGA football games. It seems people only wanna buy 1 football game a year. It just seems so absurd to me. What if all the twitchgamer FPS junkies only bought the new Call of Duty each year and nothing else? Well, that's about the way it is now, aint it?

I still can't really fathom why anyone keeps buying the same game, year after year. How many football games does one need? Does the world really need 21 Maddens? You know it's only a matter of time before they start releasing 2 or more Maddens a year. That shit's gotta happen. It's only a matter of time. They'll just call it Madden: The Off Season.

I've never been into football much anyhow, but I dig it once in awhile. I buy 1 football game every decade. I haven't played any since NFL 2K3. 2K5 was their last one, right? Maybe if Mutant League Football made a comeback. Perhaps we should start a MLF Blogspot.

Even against Madden, I still think SEGA should get back in the mix. They would need to combine the great gameplay from the 2K games with an endorsement from some, well... whoever the next John Madden will be. Madden's pushing 80, he won't likely be around much longer. He'll need to abdicate the throne sooner or later, and when he does, BAM! SEGA net's themselves a new spokesman. Easier said than done, I know.

  4. Tony - I don't think you guys got Joe Montana Football in France. You were probably playing Tendulkar Battle Cricket or something back in the day.
